    March 2021

February was a month to focus on friendships, culture, and the differences we all share. Each classroom recognized and created activities focused on these topics. It was great to see the celebrations of friends and loved ones. The children were particularly excited about our yearly Valentine's day festivities. It was a nice time to build on their friendships and remind one another the value of love and kindness. The children were so happy to give valentines out to their friends and share in good food. It is a great learning opportunity for the children to learn the value of giving.
Our enrichment program after 3:00pm is an important part of each day. Every day the children are exposed to art, music, cooking, computers and Spanish. Some of this month’s activities included Japanese art, music from the Asian culture, Spanish words for friendship greetings, making friendship trail mix and focusing on math, language and reading using the computers. These lessons are a critical part of learning and developing the necessary skills to succeed in everyday life.
In March we are looking forward to celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday along with his impact on early literacy. We will also be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with festivities and green materials! Our children will be studying Africa and the Savanna. They will be discussing the animal habitats and what makes them special. March is also the month that re-enrollment packets are due and spring photos are taken. We will be providing childcare during Spring Break the last week of March. October Recap:

October has been a fun and exciting month. We had some amazing local visitors come out to join us for our health and safety week. A local dentist came out to tell us why it is important to take care of our teeth. We learned all about eating healthy foods and the importance of brushing and flossing. The tooth fairy came along with the dentist and passed out some lovely swag. Some local fire fires from Cal Fire also came to teach us about fire safety. They brought a fire truck and a fire engine with them. They also brought some of their awesome equipment that they use to keep our community safe. Our friends even had the opportunity to use the fire hose! This was an exciting experience for our friends.

We also had our Fall Carnival month as well. Our children were filled with excitement waiting for our Fall Carnival to emerge. Thank you to all of you that came to volunteer! We appreciate all of you! We love hosting events here at Belltower so that we build bonds with families and build a sense of community. Our book fair was also a big hit. Kiddos were excited to stop by and check out some of the amazing books we had to offer. Books are a great way to get your children reading and increase their vocabulary. We also had our open house this month. You all had the opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers to see what they are doing as well as some of your children’s work.

    September 2018

    September Recap:

This has been and exciting month here at Belltower Montessori. We had a great start to our new school year. Thank you for everyone that came out to our Back to School Night! It was nice seeing all of you. It is important to get a feel of what your children do throughout the day here as they learn to grow and thrive. All our events encourage families to come out and meet our staff as well as fellow classmates as we grow a sense of community to make sure we give our children the best start possible to their growing minds. We have had some great new additions to our staff family. We have Ms. Thompson in room 7 that has joined Ms. Amtey as a co-teacher. We also have Ms. Janelle as a lead teacher in room 4 as well as Ms. Blanca as her assistant. All our new staff members have experience working with children and have brought their own unique vibrant personality ready and enthusiastic about their roles here at Belltower.

The infant toddler class merge has been transitioning smoothly. Our friends are adjusting and learning to navigate around the room while getting used to the class schedule. It is such a joy to see our young babies learning from observing their classmates just a few milestones ahead of them. Our second preprimary classroom is starting to fill up. We have lots of new friends this year full of energy and ready to learn. Our elementary school room has grown to 15 children! We are excited about our growth here at Belltower. Thank you all for the support through the adjustments.

Our enrichment programs are going great. Our primary and elementary children have opportunities to participate in enrichment programs that include computers, Spanish, music, art, and cooking. Children love learning new things and having hand on experiences.  We strive to introduce our children into many different activities to get them learning, exploring, and using their imaginations.  Please remember to sign up for snack host. Snack host reaches our students in so many ways. Our shy students get a chance to blossom and let their friends learn about them through foods they enjoy. Students also get the chance to taste foods they may not have ever tasted before.

    Summer Recap:

This summer was full of exciting events while children learned to grow and thrive. The children enjoyed the in-house field trips. The reptile show filled the kids with excitement as they got to touch scaly creatures that they would not normally see in our everyday lives. We also added a few new shows to our adventures this summer. We added the petting zoo as well as the bubble show. I am so glad that we were able to offer these fun activities to our children here are Belltower. Now that our summer is coming to an end we are excited about our new school year. We would like to extend our greatest welcome to Ms. Frazier who is our new Assistant Director. She has ten plus years working with children and was also a behavioral therapist prior to joining us. May 2018

    May Recap:

I’m amazed we accomplished so much in such little time this month. Our month started off with our Annual Mother’s Day Tea Party. Every room was filled with love, laughter and excitement from all our children. Each room had so much to offer. One room had a dance party while another had an elegant tea party with hats and tea and proper etiquette. Dads really pulled through for our mothers that day tea by helping to serve our wonderful mothers her at Belltower.

The second week of May was devoted to our Teachers, we had Teacher Appreciation Week. We started off the week with beautiful bouquets compiled from all the children bringing in a single flower. The rooms looked and smelled beautifully! The next treat was gifts from our children and school items our teachers had on their wish lists. Along with the help of parents, we had a successful Pot Luck Lunch for our teachers. One of my favorite days was Thursday, students were to bring in a portrait of their teacher. Let’s just say we have many artists at Belltower. The children’s pictures were incredible. It was a blessing to see how much the children know and enjoy their teachers company. The last day of the week our teachers were spoiled with cards and gifts, they were so pleased and thankful for the love bestowed upon them. Teacher Appreciation week gave our teachers so much encouragement and confidence of their daily hard work and thankful for the wonderful families and children they teach.

Book fair was accompanied by our Parent Teacher Conferences the 3rd week of May. Tons of family friendly books were on display. From infant books to beginning reader books we had everything for everyone, including cookbooks for parents! We want to thank the parents who helped during book fair and appreciate the gesture, we couldn’t have done it without you!

    February Recap:

This month was a fun filled month with love, friendship and excitement. We were so pleased to see so many parents, family and friends join us for our Friendship parties this month. Each class had different games and activities planned for our event. I had the pleasure of walking into each room and seeing the smiling faces of al the children. The had a great time handing out Valentine cards to one another. Our entire school was filled with hearts and pink, red and white streamers to give our school a fun feel.

Mr. John began building our sandbox this month and the children have become antsy with anticipation. He finally finished it the last week of the month and the children were thrilled to have another area they could focus their learning and imagination to build and play. We have been discussing our sandbox rules each day and needing everyone’s help keeping our sand "in the box" Mr. John also added a special little house to our toddler yard. The kids have been very enthusiastic about their new play house. We are truly blessed to have such amazing help around our school, thank you Mr. John!

As we expand our school and continue to thrive to make our program better, we implemented our new Lunch program option for all the students and family to participate or kindly decline. This will give the option to everyone to bring their own lunch from home. With this going into effect this upcoming month we do ask that you remember our "no peanut" policy.
