Children's House Room 6
April 2026
Another spectacularly exciting month has come and gone. As we gear up for the wonders that May will bring, let's take a quick look back at April. We kicked off the month with an engaging Egg Hunt on the playground, where children eagerly searched for colorful eggs hidden among the grass and trees. Inside the classroom, festivities continued with a joyful Easter feast, featuring treats generously provided by the most supportive parents we could ask for! Thank you for your unwavering support—truly, it takes a village, and you are the best on earth.
Speaking of earth, Earth Day’s beautiful weather allowed us to spend the morning outdoors. We enjoyed basking in the warm sunshine while cleaning and pruning our garden beds. Our succulent plants had outgrown their containers, so we decided to carefully clip and replant some cuttings to encourage healthy growth. In addition to gardening, we explored fascinating facts about the continent of Australia. We learned about the Aboriginal peoples, their rich traditions, and their favorite foods. We also discovered vibrant Aboriginal art, characterized by its intricate dot paintings and meaningful symbols. Furthermore, we discussed what it means to be a marsupial and identified two Australian animals as examples: kangaroos and koalas.
We also delved into the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. We learned that coral is a living animal, a type of marine invertebrate, and that it forms vast underwater ecosystems. Understanding the reef's importance emphasized the need to protect these delicate habitats for future generations. We enjoyed a visit from several men and women who serve and protect our community. They generously allowed us to explore the inside of their service vehicle. The children had the opportunity to hold the police badge to see how heavy it was, and they asked numerous questions that were thoughtfully answered by the officers. One of the children even asked, "Do you catch the bad guys?"
Well, that's all for now. Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more adventures as we continue our discoveries moving towards the end of our year’s journey. Well, that's all for now. Thank you so much for reading! Stay tuned for more exciting adventures as we keep exploring and moving closer to the end of our year’s journey. Looking forward to sharing more moments with you!
With love,
Your friends from the classroom 6.
March 2026
March has been a meaningful and engaging month in our classroom. While we didn’t experience much of the typical March winds, the children were fully immersed in rich, hands-on learning experiences that supported their growth across all areas of development. Throughout the month, we continued building our love for reading, especially through the works of Dr. Seuss. His stories encouraged creativity, language development, and joy for literature. We also used these opportunities to support early literacy skills such as nouns, verbs, and adjective identification, helping children connect language to their everyday environment.
In our Montessori work cycle, the children explored a variety of Practical Life activities that strengthen independence and coordination. They practiced skills such as spooning beans, threading beads, using droppers to transfer water, and opening and closing buckles. These activities help refine fine motor skills while also building concentration and confidence.
Grace and Courtesy lessons were an important focus this month. The children practiced giving genuine compliments, celebrating each other’s success, learning how to work respectfully in groups, and asking politely to join play. These lessons help build a strong, respectful classroom community and support social-emotional growth. Our cultural studies took us on a journey to Asia. The children learned about geography, landmarks, and animals of the continent, while also making connections through art and discussions.
We also had a wonderful time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Thank you to all the families for your support and participation, it truly made the day special for the children!
As we wrap up this busy and enriching month, we are proud of the children’s growth in independence, concentration, and social skills. We look forward to continuing this journey together after a well-deserved Spring Break.
Thank you for your continued support!
February 2026
Welcome to our February blog! We're delighted to share our latest adventure with you. This month, we embarked on a fantastic mental journey to a thrilling safari across Africa, exploring the vast and beautiful Serengeti National Park. We were captivated by the incredible diversity of wildlife—majestic lions, herds of gentle elephants, swift cheetahs, and lively zebras—all flourishing in the stunning savannah landscape. It was a wonderful chance to let our imagination run free and marvel at the natural wonders.
We had some wonderful group discussions about the inspiring story of a brave little girl named Ruby Bridges, and how societal changes have helped create a more inclusive world. Today, we're happy to see that segregation has decreased a lot; our classroom friends from different backgrounds and nationalities now go to the same schools, share meals on beautiful Spring Valentine's Day during lunch, work together on group activities, and team up to build a fairer, more welcoming society. Thanks to a very brave little girl.
A huge “THANK YOU” to Ruby Bridges!
Thank you to all the parents who participated in our February parties, including the classroom celebration and the cultural activities, your involvement was truly appreciated. We are excited for the upcoming March lessons as we explore the diverse cultures, geography, and wildlife of the continent of Asia. Additionally, we'll embark on a literary adventure through the imaginative worlds of Dr. Seuss, discovering new stories and characters.
Stay tuned for more updates from your friends of classroom 6. 💕
January 2026
Greetings and happy reading! January was an exciting month as we virtually explored Europe through various activities and lessons. We learned about numerous countries, including Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, and Germany. Our studies included famous landmarks such as London's Elizabeth Tower, commonly known as Big Ben, which stands as a symbol of Victorian engineering and architectural ingenuity. In France, we examined the Eiffel Tower, discussing its innovative iron lattice design and its status as a global icon. In Italy, we explored the Colosseum in Rome, delving into its ancient Roman architectural features and historical significance as a gladiatorial arena.
Our hands-on activities involved creative projects, like carefully pouring dry ingredients from picture cards into miniature teacups, preparing us for wet pouring into real teacups. We also observed the fascinating metamorphosis of a monarch butterfly from egg to caterpillar, pupa, and adult, to learn about its life cycle. Additionally, we celebrated two classroom birthdays with songs and trips around the sun we also honored Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday with a respectful discussion about his pivotal role in advancing civil rights. What a wonderful month filled with explorations of remarkable places and meaningful lessons that prepared us for the upcoming month of February, where love and kindness are in the air! We eagerly anticipate more exciting adventures ahead. Thank you for reading!

December 2025
When you’re having fun, time seems to fly, and this year has been filled with countless joyful moments that we will cherish. The fun didn’t end in November; it carried on into December with exciting activities. We explored mindfulness through gentle movements like stretching and breathing exercises, and learned to walk with grace and control across the classroom floor, paying close attention to our posture. We practiced proper chair-handling techniques to ensure safety and walked slowly while caring a cup or bowl of water from the sink to our designated work station. Additionally, we journeyed through the diverse continent of South America, delving into its rich history, exploring the ancient civilizations of the Incas in Peru and the Aztecs in Mexico, and experiencing its vibrant cultures through music, dance, and traditional dress. We observed the fascinating cycle of the ladybird, commonly known as the ladybug, understanding its life stages from egg to larva, pupa, and finally, adult.
As we continued our learning, we emphasized using polite words like "please" and "thank you," respecting others’ feelings and belongings, and demonstrating kindness through actions such as sharing and helping. There was a lot of sharing and generosity among the children, fostering a caring classroom community. During Spirit Week, we celebrated the love of Christmas and holiday cheer, enjoying warm cocoa, singing festive songs, and creating gingerbread men decorated with colorful icing and candies. December was packed with wonderful activities, and we wished there were more days to continue our celebrations. I am overjoyed to continue working with such incredible children and truly cherish this special time with them.
A heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful parents who participated by volunteering, helping organize activities, and sharing thoughtful Christmas gifts that brought smiles all around. Thank you so much for reading. We eagerly anticipate the new year and all its exciting surprises. My only wish is that the school year would slow down a bit so we can savor every precious moment. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a joyous, prosperous New Year from your friends in Classroom 6.
November 2025
Another month has flown by—time really does seem to go quickly when we’re having fun learning in the Montessori classroom! The children are happily gaining independence as they learn good table manners and taking responsibility for cleaning up after themselves. We explored our emotions together by singing a lovely song; you can tell how I’m feeling just by looking at my face. The kids also had a wonderful time learning about their home in California, right here in the USA.
A big thank you to all the parents for joining us for this year’s Thanksgiving feast — your participation truly makes a positive difference in how smoothly our classroom runs. It’s a little sad to see November go so quickly, but I believe the best month is still ahead! I’m so excited to see what December will bring us. Thank you all for reading, with love from your friends in Classroom Six.
October 2025
Happy October! Autumn is in full bloom, and the changing leaves signal the beauty of this season. We observed how the leaves turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow as part of our exploration of seasonal changes. We played in the leaves, jumping into piles and crunching them underfoot, which made our outdoor experience even more fun. We also discovered how to be polite during this season: when introducing ourselves to others, we learned polite phrases such as "Will you please help me?" to show respect and kindness. We practiced not interrupting others because we understood that everyone's thoughts and learning moments should be allowed to unfold without interruption.
Additionally, we learned about what happens to trees during autumn, including the process of leaf shedding as trees prepare for winter, conserving energy and water. We examined the different parts of a root—such as root hairs, cortex, and root cap—to understand how roots absorb nutrients from the soil and anchor trees securely to the ground.
We also explored animal classifications, including fish, mammals, and amphibians, discussing features that group these animals together. We learned that North America is home to many of these animals, such as deer, bears, frogs, and fish like trout. As we close out this month, we look forward to the wonders of November, eagerly anticipating upcoming seasonal changes and holidays. Stay tuned!

September 2025
Hello! It's your friends from room six. I'm excited to share a fun-filled summary of our September adventures! Throughout the month, we learned about classroom etiquette and how to wash our hands independently using soap — keeping ourselves clean and healthy. We practiced carrying trays and rolling out rugs to prepare for our activities and learned how to care for our classroom materials. We learned that we keep our bodies safe when we walk in the classroom versus running.
We even had a blast singing new songs, including one about the seven continents! We also learned polite phrases like "May I have...," "Excuse me," "Please," "Hello, my name is...," and "May I be excused?" September zoomed by in a flash, but not before we shared wonderful stories about ourselves, our homes, and our families. We explored the amazing world of plants, discovering the different stages a seed goes through and how to care for them with water and soil. As September comes to an end, we're looking forward to cooler weather and exciting autumn activities in October!
Thank you so much for all your support. Wishing you a fun and positive day! With love, 💕Ms. Love and friends of room six ❤️
Summer 2025
