February Recap

February was a joyful, enriching, and meaningful month at our Montessori school. Our students experienced special celebrations, cultural learning, and hands-on activities that supported their growth, independence, and understanding of the world around them. We began the month with a lovely Valentine’s celebration. The children shared cards, practiced kindness, and celebrated friendship together. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our classroom community while encouraging grace, courtesy, and social development.

February is also Black History Month, and we took time to honor and celebrate the achievements, history, and contributions of African Americans. Through age-appropriate stories, discussions, and activities, students learned about important historical figures and the value of equality, respect, and diversity. These conversations help build empathy and appreciation for the many individuals who have shaped our communities and our country. In our cultural studies, we focused on Africa. Students explored geography, wildlife, traditions, music, and culture. A special highlight was when several children brought items from Africa to share with their classmates. This made learning more personal and meaningful while helping students build confidence as they presented and shared with the class.

We were also excited to host our Open House this month. Families had the chance to visit our classrooms, explore Montessori materials, and learn more about how our program fosters independence, concentration, and a love of learning. It was a pleasure welcoming both current and prospective families into our school environment. Our Parents’ Night Out was another highlight of the month. The children enjoyed a fun and engaging evening filled with activities, games, and creative projects in a safe and nurturing setting.

Our Book of the Month was Yellow Is the Sun, Green Is the Grass. The children participated in activities inspired by the story, including art projects, color exploration, and language work connected to the book’s themes. Throughout the month, our Montessori classrooms continued to focus on purposeful, hands-on work. From Practical Life activities that build independence, to Sensorial materials that refine the senses, and Math and Language enrichment that strengthen academic skills, our students are developing confidence, focus, and a true love of learning. It is always inspiring to see how much pride they take in their work and how naturally independence grows within the Montessori environment.

We are so proud of our students and all they accomplished in February, and we look forward to another exciting month ahead.

January Recap

This month in our classrooms, the children joyfully explored Europe, learning about its countries, cultures, and landmarks through hands-on activities, maps, and meaningful discussions. Our literature focus was The Mitten, a beloved folk tale that sparked curiosity, sequencing skills, and rich conversations about animals, winter, and storytelling traditions from Europe. The children delighted in retelling the story and engaging with it through art and practical life extensions.

We also spent time honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., learning about kindness, fairness, and standing up for others in age-appropriate and thoughtful ways. Alongside this, our Grace and Courtesy lessons were woven into our daily work, helping children practice respectful communication, patience, and care for one another. These lessons continue to support the development of a peaceful and connected classroom community, and it has been wonderful to see the children putting them into practice each day.

December 2025

December has been a truly special and meaningful month here at Belltower Montessori, filled with generosity, learning, celebration, and community.

This month, our classrooms were alive with rich Montessori lessons that encouraged curiosity and global awareness. The children explored South America, learning about its geography, culture, and animals. They also studied animal life cycles, observing how living things grow and change over time, and explored leaves, discovering their parts, textures, and the changes they undergo with the seasons. In addition, our cultural studies focused on celebrations and holidays from around the world, helping children develop respect and appreciation for diverse traditions.

Our featured book this month was The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, which beautifully reinforced themes of generosity, kindness, and giving—values we strive to nurture daily in our Montessori environment.

We were honored to participate in the Spark of Love Toy Drive, thanks to the incredible generosity of our families. Parents and children donated toys to help bring joy to others, and it was especially meaningful when our local fire department came to campus to pick up the donations. This experience allowed our children to see kindness and service in action.

Another highlight of the month was our Holiday Winter Performances. It was a joy to welcome families onto campus to watch the children shine with confidence and pride as they shared songs and performances they had been practicing.

We also had a lot of fun during Spirit Week, where creativity and school spirit were on full display! From Crazy Sock Day and Red & Green Day to Pajama Day and Ugly Sweater Day, both children and staff embraced each theme with excitement and laughter.

As we head into our holiday winter break, please remember that the school will be closed until January 2nd. We hope this time brings rest, joy, and meaningful moments with loved ones.

November 2025

November was filled with so much joy and thankfulness. The children were busy learning to be bucket fillers in each classroom by reading To Fill a Bucket by Carol McCloud and Katherine Martin. Being kind and helpful to others is a significant part of our school’s culture. We embraced the mixed-aged groups and used this as an opportunity for the children to share their knowledge when someone was in need. We always encourage the children to assist one another and to look to others for help. This enables us to build a strong foundation for our growing children. Share day is a day for the children to connect school and home by bringing in an item from home to share with their friends. This allows them to speak in front of a group and share personal stories and experiences. The children are truly enjoying our Enrichment program.

Our See's Candy Fundraiser got off to a great start! We want to thank all our parents for your time attending our Parent/teacher conferences. They were very informative for parents and teachers and are always an excellent opportunity for a one-on-one conversation. Our Harvest Feast was so much fun! Thank you to all our wonderful families for your participation. You all are truly appreciated.

Dates and activities to look forward to in December. We are excited about the upcoming Holiday performances. Each classroom will perform individually during the week of December 8 ^th -12 ^th . Our school spirit week will be December 15 ^th -19 ^th . Each day will have a different theme. You can find the themes listed in the week’s prior Newsletter. We will also post a list of the themes in the front entry. We look forward to your participation. Progress report cards will be distributed on December 17 ^th . We hope that our Belltower families will have a safe and joyous holiday season. We will be closed for Winter break from December 24 through January 1. We will return on Friday, January 2, 2026, ready to start a new year!

September has been an amazing start to this new 2025-2026 school year. We have welcomed many new and returning families to our school. We would like to thank you all for choosing Belltower to care for your children. Back to School Night was a huge success! Our teachers did an amazing job introducing their goals and expectations for the year. It was wonderful to see so many parents in attendance. If you have any questions regarding curriculum, please feel free to contact us at your convenience.

The children enjoyed their first month back at school, which consisted of classroom rules, guidelines, and expectations along with Montessori lessons. The children practiced lessons each day to help establish a solid classroom routine. They enjoyed getting to know one another in each room by creating, “All about Me” booklets, paintings, and other activities. They shared family photos and hung them in their classrooms which tied in perfectly to our literature book of the month The Kissing Hand. Our enrichment program has continued in each classroom where the children studied Art, Music, Cooking, Spanish and Computers.

Our book fair was a huge success! The children and parents enjoyed all the books that were available. Thank you to all the families that purchased a book or two, three, or more. This has been a great start to the new school year. We are looking forward to all the learning, fun activities, parent conferences, picture days, and holidays to come this year. Keep your eye out throughout the year for those dates. Here’s to a wonderful school year!!

Summer 2025

This summer at Belltower has been one to reckon with. We had a BLAST!!! The children enjoyed so many new and adventurous themes, in-house filed trips and visits from some of our parents. We started with our Community Helpers theme. During this week we had a visit from a parent dentist who taught us how to properly care for our teeth. We also had another parent come and teach us how to care for plants. The children were super excited to see the puppet show!

Next, they ventured to our Circus theme where they got to make their own circus animals. They really enjoyed learning all about STEM. They got to do some balancing and sink and float experiments. Spirit week is always a hit with the children they got to have inside out day, bugs and insect day, sports day, community helpers day, and of course what is spirit week without a pajama day? The highlight of it all was the petty zoo where they were able to pet a pig, a goat and ride a pony.

In the midst of all that the children were able to keep cool on those hot days with water slide days, where they splashed around in the water and took a slide down the slide. Bubble days were a hit especially with our toddlers. To round off our summer fun we had a fun-filled End of Summer Celebration with our Filed Day that included face painting, games, and treats.

We are looking forward to a bright, fun-fill, educational academic school year. We were sad to see some of our students move on to new schools and we wish them well. We welcome our new students here for a successful 2025-26 school year.

May Recap and June News

May was busy!! However, it was full of love, gratitude, and appreciation. We want to thank all our amazing parents for your generosity during Teacher Appreciation Week; we are truly grateful! You showered the staff beyond measure. Our Mother's Day Tea Party was a beautiful event, and we hope our mothers enjoyed their Mother's Day gifts from their kiddos. The children put a lot of thought and love into them.

June is approaching, and we will be learning all about Community Helpers. We hope to learn all about the community workers whose careers are essential in maintaining our community. We are very excited that our focus in Geography will be our beautiful home state of California. Our children will learn what makes California so special and unique. Keep your eyes and ears open for new activities and knowledge your children will bring home to share.

June is also a bittersweet month for us here, as we will see many of our children leave our center as they transition into new schools for the upcoming academic year. We wish you the best of luck and thank you for joining our Belltower family. Feel free to stop by any time to visit! You are always welcome to come back home.

Some important dates to remember:

-Friday, June 13 ^th . Please help us celebrate our dads for Father's Day between 9:00 am-10:00 am.

-Children’s progress report cards will go out on June 20 ^th .

April Recap and May News

In April, the children learned about Island and Volcanoes. In their classrooms they were able to learn how volcanoes are formed and erupt. They also learned about Australia/ New Zealand/ Pacific Islands. The children learned about the Great Barrier Reef, culture, national flags, wildlife, kangaroos, koalas, and more. The children discussed Earth Day and the importance of keeping our world clean by recycling and reusing materials for different things.

April included an annual celebration called the "Week of the Young Child." The children were excited about the different themes during the week. The children enjoyed making instruments, snacks, building, and creating art. One of their favorite activities was building boxes on the playground. They also loved the "Parfait" inspired by our gardens. They really enjoyed our spirit week as well with silly hair/hat, sports, princess/superheroes, and favorite color day.

We want to thank all our parents for your scholastic purchases. It helps fill our library with books that the children enjoy reading. Our annual egg hunt was a blast! The children were so excited to collect eggs. Thank you so much to our parents for providing the eggs for the hunt and your contributions to your child’s classroom celebrations.

May is going to be a hectic month. We will start with a week-long event from May 5 ^th - 9 ^th for Teacher Appreciation. This is an opportunity to show your appreciation for all our teachers' excellent hard work. We have asked each teacher to fill out a 'Favorites' form. Then we move to our annual Mother's Day Event on the 9 ^th and Parent-Teacher Conferences on the 20 ^th and 21 ^st . This is a reminder that we close at 3:00 pm on both days. Last, but not least, school will be closed on Monday, May 26 ^th for Memorial Day. Whew! We are excited about what May will bring.

March Recap and April News

March was all about Africa, Dinosaurs, and Dr. Seuss. We also celebrated St. Patrick's Day. We enjoyed all the books the children brought in for the teachers to read. During enrichments, we read several books in Spanish, made "green eggs and ham," and enjoyed creating moves to African music. St. Patrick’s Day was a huge success with everything being green. The teachers and children really enjoyed the day. Thank you to the parents who brought items for our March celebrations.

We are looking forward to a month full of knowledge and adventure. Our focus in April will be Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, and Volcanos. There will be several discussions and projects about volcanos.

Our school is very excited to study, discuss and read about nature and the importance of caring for planet earth. Earth Day is Tuesday, April 22 ^nd, and we want to help create awareness of the environment and how we treat nature. Each classroom will make something out of recycled materials, so please let your child's teacher know if you would like to bring something in from home.

February Recap and March News

In February our students focused on Culture Awareness and Friendship. Each classroom recognized and created activities focused on these topics as well as introducing the children to some Black History. It was great to see the children understand that we all come from different cultures and backgrounds, but that we can all be friendly to each other. The children were very excited about our yearly Valentine’s Day parties. It was an excellent time to build on their friendships and remind one another of the value of love and kindness. The children were so happy to share their valentine’s treats with their friends and share good food. It was a great learning opportunity for the children to practice the value of giving and sharing.

Our enrichment program is an essential part of each day. The children were exposed to art, music, cooking, computers, and gardening daily. The children really love watering and eating lettuce from our garden. Some of this month’s activities also included Japanese art, music of Johannes Brahms, making friendship fruit salad, and focusing on math, language, and reading using the computers.

In March, our children will be studying Dinosaurs and Africa. They will be discussing animal habitats and what makes them unique. We look forward to celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday and his impact on early literacy. We will also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with festivities and green materials! Our spring break will be from March 31 to April 4, 2025. Child-care will be provided during spring break, but it will be a different cost, with all funds going directly to the teachers. Re-enrollment packets are also due on March 17th. Emails will be sent with a registration form, and reminders will be sent accordingly.

January Recap and February News

Happy New Year! January was full of many interesting discussions. After returning from winter break, the children took time to get back into routine, and we were happy to have everyone back and to welcome our new students. The children studied Snow, Winter, and Ice, as well as Winter animals and hibernation. They were excited to learn about polar bears, penguins, and other hibernating animals. They were especially interested in animals that hibernate in caves! Our book of the month, The Mitten, was a huge success among the children.

In February, we are studying Cultural Awareness and Friendship. We will be learning about Black history as well. In our Montessori studies we will focus on the continent of Asia. The children will discuss family traditions and cultures, what it means to be a good friend, and being kind to all people. Feb. 25 ^th is our Open house; please remember school will close at 3pm this day. On Feb. 14 ^th, we will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a themed party in each classroom. Your child is welcome to bring in a Valentine for each class member. Sign-ups for the celebration will be posted on your child’s classroom door the week prior.

Other dates to remember are Feb. 17 ^th -18 ^th school will be closed for President’s Day and our professional development day.

Our snack host program is an excellent opportunity for direct involvement in assuring the children eat a healthy snack each morning. Please look for the reminders in Procare of when it’s your child’s turn to be their class snack host. The children really look forward to their day to pass out their snacks and be the calendar and flag helper for the day. Thank you, parents, for your participation in school activities. We truly appreciate you! We are looking forward to the exciting activities February will bring.

December Recap and January News

December was filled with so many activities. Our teachers introduced the children to Celebrations Around the World. They were able to discuss how every family celebrates the holidays. The children were excited to share their families holiday traditions, by bringing in items from home. Our See’s candies fundraiser was a great success.

The children did an AMAZING job during their classroom holiday performances. We appreciate you all for coming and supporting your little ones while they sang holiday songs. They were so excited to see you all. They really enjoyed their holiday classroom celebrations.

In January, the children will talk about Winter Animals and Hibernation. The children will get to discuss animals that live in cold climates and those that hibernate. They will learn about Antarctica, the winter weather, and how it changes the environment. The winter break was relaxing, but we are happy to be back.

We will be closed on January 20 ^th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.

October Recap and September News

We had a spooktacular month in October! It was so rewarding to see the children enjoying themselves as we entered the Fall season along with Halloween vibes. We had a variety of Fall inspired activities in each of the classrooms. The children enjoyed coming in their costumes and participating in our annual costume parade. The costumes were very creative and colorful. We want to thank you for your kind donations for the Halloween parties and costume parade. The children were so excited! Thank you for participating in our fall book fair. We were able to get several books for each classroom with the proceeds.

Our Enrichment program included computers, cooking, music, art, and gardening. We made pumpkin fluff and spider crackers for cooking. Our garden looked as beautiful as ever, and each classroom continued nurturing our garden full of herbs, flowers, and veggies.

November has just begun! As days get shorter and nights get longer, please remember to speak with your child/ren about the change that will occur as it will become darker earlier. As the weather becomes cooler, please remember to swap out your child’s cooler extra change of clothes for warmer clothes and label everything.

September Recap and October News

Wow! Just that fast September is over already. We are overjoyed with all the new families that have joined us for this new school year. We would like to thank you all for choosing Belltower to care for your children. Back to School Night was a huge success! Our teachers did an amazing job introducing their goals and expectations for the year. There was great dialogue between parents and teachers. It was wonderful to see so many parents attend for the evening, even with all the fires and road shutdowns that were happening around the area. If you have any questions regarding curriculum, please feel free to contact us at your convenience.

The children enjoyed their first month back at school which consisted of classroom rules, guidelines, and expectations along with Montessori lessons. The children practiced lessons each day to help establish a solid classroom routine. The children have enjoyed getting to know one another in each room by creating All About Me booklets, paintings, and other activities. They shared family photos and hung them in their classrooms which tied in perfectly to our literature book of the month The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. Our enrichment program has continued in each classroom where the children study Art, Music, Cooking, Gardening and Computers for all our primary families. These classes take place during the academic day schedule.

October is going to be a Spooktacular month filled with Halloween and Fall inspired activities! Our Scholastic Book fair will be held Sept. 30 ^th - Oct. 4 ^th . Our fall pictures will be held Oct. 15 ^th -Oct. 17 ^th . The second week of October is our annual Fire Safety week where we will discuss fires, drills, safety, and firefighters. The children are beyond excited for our Costume Parade and celebration which will be held on October 31 ^st from 9:30 to10:30am. This will be a child only event. Summer Recap and September News

Summer came and went in the blink of an eye! We had a fantastic time with all our in-house activities. We started the summer with a Party in The USA. We celebrated the 4 ^th of July by learning about the meaning of Independence Day, making fireworks art, and watching videos about fireworks. Our Outer Space week was filled with Stars, planets, and constellations. We named the planets and learned how they go around the sun. We had Tide pools where the children could touch and feel underwater sea creatures for our Underwater Adventure. They were able to hold them and see how they felt. The children learned about the materials needed to go Camping. We made smores and did some bird-watching with binoculars.

Our reptile friends came to visit us as well. Some children petted a python and looked closely at turtles and giant lizards. We studied Farms and the animals that live on farms. We used 3-part cards to connect the bodies of the animals and created several pieces of farm animal art using paper plates and popsicle sticks. Volcano week was a blast. The children worked together in the classrooms to create volcanos and erupted them at the end of the week. The water slide was a fantastic addition to our summer fun. The child had so much fun slipping and sliding. The highlight of the summer was the reptile show and the foam party, Thank you so much for being a part of our program.

School is back in session, and we are excited to see many new and returning faces. September is filled with All About Me activities as the theme for the month. The children will be learning and sharing what makes them special and unique. We will create posters and family trees for a big monthly project. We will learn about the seven continents and begin understanding the globe. Normalizing the classroom by using our manners and learning our classroom rules and routines will also be a big part of learning in September.

We are honored that you chose Belltower Montessori Academy for your children’s education. We are excited to jump into the school year and see what new opportunities and learning experiences this year holds for us.

January Recap and February News

January was filled with fun-packed discussions; after returning from break, the children took time to readjust, and we are happy to have everyone back in school mode. The children studied about Snow, Winter, and Ice, as well as Winter animals and hibernation. The children were excited to learn about polar bears, penguins, and other hibernating animals. They were especially interested in animals that hibernate in caves! Our book of the month, The Mitten, was a huge success. We also studied Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. In which we discussed freedom and cultural differences.

In February, we are studying cultural awareness and friendship. We will be learning about Black history month as well. The contentment of Asia will be our concentration in our Montessori studies. The children will discuss family traditions and cultures, what it means to be a good friend, and being kind to all people. Feb. 7 ^th is our Open house; please remember it’s an early closure day. On Feb. 14 ^th, we are celebrating with Valentine’s Day-themed party in each classroom. Your child is welcome to bring in a Valentine for each class member. Sign-ups for the celebration will be posted on your child’s classroom door the week prior.

We are looking forward to the exciting activities February will bring.

Our snack host program is an excellent opportunity for direct involvement in assuring the children eat a healthy snack each morning. We want to thank our parents for their commitment to our program. December Recap and January News

December had several fun-packed activities. Each class focused on Celebrations Around the World. Discuss how each child celebrates the holiday with their family and talks involving Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. The children showed enthusiasm for the holidays when discussing their family traditions. Some of our children brought in items from their homes to share a real-life experience. Spirit Week was a lot of fun! We had a red and green day, a fun hair day, an ugly sweater day, and a pajama day. Our See’s candy fundraiser was a success.

We were so thankful to all the families who donated to the annual Spark of Love toy drive. We hope everyone was able to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones.

We were so proud of our children and their hard work in the holiday performance. Our families are unique, and your support is highly appreciated. We were glad to have you come to the school to watch your children perform! They were so excited to sing for you all. The children enjoyed ending the week with a holiday celebration.

In January, our discussions will be Winter Animals and Hibernation. The children will discuss animals that reside in cold climates and hibernate animals. They will learn about Antarctica, the winter weather, and how it changes the environment. We are happy to be back from our winter break. We hope you enjoyed the time with your families. We will be closed on January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. We want to welcome our new families who have joined Belltower Montessori.

November Recap and December News

November was filled with so much joy and thankfulness. Our See's Candy Fundraiser was a great success! We look forward to the new additions to our school. We want to thank all our parents for your time attending our Parent/teacher conferences. They were very informative for parents and teachers and are always an excellent opportunity for a one-on-one conversation. We aim to provide a positive and successful educational experience for each child by developing a relationship between school and home. Our Harvest Feast was a joy. We have the most wonderful families here at Belltower Montessori, and we are beyond thankful to all of you.

The children were busy learning to fill a bucket in each classroom by reading Fill a Bucket by Carol McCloud and Katherine Martin. Being kind and helpful to others is a significant part of the Belltower culture. We embraced the mixed-aged groups and used this as an opportunity for the children to share their knowledge and expertise when someone was in need. We always encourage the children to assist one another and to look to others for help. This enables us to build a strong foundation for our growing children. Share day is a day for the children to connect school and home by bringing in an item from home to share with their friends. This allows them to speak in front of a group and share personal stories and experiences. The children are truly enjoying our Enrichment program. Art and cooking are massive hits. Their favorite cooking activity was the pumpkin fluff with graham crackers and whipped cream.

December will be filled with festive activities. We are excited about the upcoming Holiday performances. Each classroom will perform individually and be held in person the week of December 11th. Progress reports will be distributed on December 20th ^, so please check your child's file that day. Our annual spirit week will be held the week of December 19. Each day will have a different theme. You can find the themes listed in the December Newsletter. We will also send a list of the themes home with your child. We look forward to your participation. We will be participating in the annual Spark of Love Toy Drive. If you would like to donate, please bring in an unwrapped toy by Wed. December 13th and drop it in the box by the office. Please feel free to share your family's holiday traditions with your child's class, as this will be a topic of discussion. We hope to see our Belltower families enjoy the holidays. We will be closed for Winter break from December 22 through January 1. We will return on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, ready to start a new year!

September Recap:

September was a great month. First, we want to thank all the parents who could attend our Back to School Night. We appreciate all the positive feedback we received and are trying every day to make our school a school that fits your family's needs. We hope it was informative and helpful. The children were excited to learn about All About Me; they loved showing off their family pictures and worksheets.

We also had so much fun celebrating all the September birthdays!

October News:

The weather will start cooling down in October, the days are getting shorter, and the leaves turn colors. This month, the children will be learning about the Solar System, the Fall season, and what comes with it. The children are excited to learn about the fall festivities, including our Costume Parade. Parents are more than welcome to join us during this to watch! More information to come about this activity. As a reminder, we will have our Book Fair run 10/2 – 10/6. Picture Day will be 10/24 – 10/26. We are very excited about this month; we can't wait for the fun moments we will have. If you have any questions, please reach out to Andrea or Mrs. Bray.

May Recap and June News

May Recap:

May was a busy month full of love, gratitude, and appreciation. We want to thank all our amazing parents for your generosity during Teacher Appreciation Week; we are truly grateful! You showered the staff beyond measure. Our Mother's Day Tea Party was a beautiful event, and we hope our mothers enjoyed their Mother's Day cards and unique crafts. The children put a lot of thought and love into them.

Our focus in May was on Whales and Migration. You can imagine the children's reactions to the sound of Whales. They concentrated while learning about Caterpillars and the life cycle of a butterfly. The children and staff showed so much enthusiasm with curriculum planning in May. Our enrichment activities gave us new ways of telling our moms we love them. We also made caterpillars, sombreros, and smoothies during enrichments. The children learned new recipes for fresh tropical fruit smoothies and guacamole making. They danced to the beat of the music and were introduced to new musical instruments! They also improved their Spanish skills by learning popular Spanish phrases and colors!

June News:

June is here, and we are learning all about Community Helpers. We hope to learn all about the community workers whose careers are essential in maintaining our community working. We are very excited that our focus in Geography is our beautiful home state of California. Our children will learn what makes California so special and unique. Keep your eyes and ears open for new activities and knowledge your children will bring home to share.

June is also a bittersweet month for us here. This month we will see many of our children leave our center as they transition into new schools for the upcoming academic year. We wish you the best of luck and thank you for joining our Belltower family. Feel free to stop by any time to visit! You are always welcome to come back home.

Some important dates are Friday, June 16 ^th . Please help us celebrate our dads for Father's Day; join us for our dad's event between 9:00 am-10:00 am.

April Recap and May News

April Recap:

In April, the children concentrated on Australia and Planet Earth. The children worked in the garden and discussed caring for the planet to help celebrate Earth Day. They also learned the importance of recycling and keeping our world clean. They practiced recycling in their classrooms, with lessons focused on materials that can and cannot be recycled.

We want to thank all our parents for your scholastic purchases. It helps fill our library with books that the children enjoy reading. Our annual egg hunt was a blast! The children were so excited to collect the eggs. Thank you so much to our parents for providing the eggs for the hunt.

May News:

May is going to be a hectic month. We have our annual Mother's Day Event on the 10 ^th and Parent-Teacher Conferences on the 16 ^th and 17 ^th . This a reminder that we close at 3:00 pm on both days. In May, we also include a week-long event for Teacher Appreciation. This is an opportunity to show your appreciation for all our teachers' excellent hard work. We have asked each teacher to fill out a 'Favorites' form. We are excited about what May brings.

March Recap and April News

March Recap:

March has come and gone. We had such an exciting month. We kick-started the month by celebrating Dr. Seuss. We spent the month reading and exploring different Dr. Seuss books. We also went on our trip to the past, venturing into the Jurassic period and the evolution of dinosaurs. One of the students shared a fantastic book on this subject. We also continue to explore Africa. We learned there are over 3,000 tribes that speak over 2000 different languages. All very unique in their traditions. We focused on the other animals that live there as well.

Another fun subject was St. Patrick's Day. The children all enjoyed their parties and festivities. Enrichment was full of fun this month. We made "green eggs and ham," cat in the hats, and continued our ABC mouse learning journeys.

April News:

April is here! This month, the class is very excited about our visit to Australia and the surrounding Oceania region while exploring the volcanos in many parts of the world. We are focusing on the planet Earth as we learn about Earth Days and what we can do to help our planet.

April is a fun month full of exciting activities! We will celebrate Spring with an egg hunt and a spring party. Our book fair and week of the young child will be part of our April festivities.

February Recap and March News

February Recap:

February was a month to focus on friendships, culture, and our differences. Each classroom recognized and created activities focused on these topics. It was great to see the celebrations of friends and loved ones. The children were particularly excited about our yearly Valentine’s Day festivities. It was an excellent time to build on their friendships and remind one another of the value of love and kindness. The children were so happy to hand valentines out to their friends and share in good food. It is a great learning opportunity for the children to practice the value of giving.

Our enrichment program is an essential part of each day. The children are exposed to art, music, cooking, computers, and Spanish daily. These lessons are critical to learning and developing the necessary skills to succeed. Some of this month’s activities included Japanese art, music from the Asian culture, Spanish words for friendship greetings, making friendship trail mix, and focusing on math, language, and reading using the computers.

March News:

In March, our children will be studying Dinosaurs and Africa. They will be discussing animal habitats and what makes them unique. We look forward to celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday and his impact on early literacy. We will also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with festivities and green materials! Our spring break will be from April 3 – to April 7, 2023. Child-care will be provided during spring break, but it will be a different cost, with all funds going directly to the teachers. Re-enrollment packets are due this month as well. Emails will be sent with a registration form, and reminders will be sent accordingly.

In February, we are studying cultural awareness and friendship. We will be learning about Black history month as well. The contentment of Asia will be our concentration in our Montessori studies. The children will discuss family traditions and cultures, what it means to be a good friend, and be kind to everyone. Feb. 8 ^th is our Open house; please remember it’s an early closure day. On Feb. 14 ^th, we are celebrating with Valentine’s Day-themed party in each classroom. Your child is welcome to bring in a Valentine for each class member. Sign-ups for the celebration will be posted on your child’s classroom door the week prior.

We are looking forward to the exciting activities February will bring.

Our snack host program is an excellent opportunity for direct involvement in assuring the children eat a healthy snack each morning. We want to thank our parents for their commitment to our program. I would greatly appreciate your continued dedication to ensuring our program succeeds. Once again, thank you for all you do!

December had several fun-packed activities. Each class focused on Celebrations Around the World. Discuss how each child celebrates the holiday with their family and talks involving Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. The children showed enthusiasm for the holidays when discussing their family traditions. Some of our children brought in items from their homes to share a real-life experience. October Recap and November News

October Recap:

We had a spooktacular month in October! It was so rewarding to see the children enjoying themselves as we entered the Fall season along with Halloween vibes. We had a variety of Fall inspired activities in each of the classrooms. The children enjoyed coming in their costumes and participating in our annual costume parade. The costumes were very creative and colorful. We want to thank you for your kind donations for the Halloween party and costume parade. The children were so excited! Thank you for participating in our fall book fair. We were able to get several books for each classroom with the proceeds. We were delighted to continue building our school library and appreciated every family who donated to our shelves.

Our Enrichment program included computers, cooking, music, art, and Spanish. We listened to the composer, Camille-Sait-Saens, famous for the Carnival of the Animals, and studied Picasso. We made pumpkin fluff and spider crackers for cooking. Our garden looked as beautiful as ever, and each classroom continued nurturing our garden full of herbs, flowers, and veggies.

November News:

November has just rolled in, and we are thankful for many things in our lives! As days get shorter and nights get longer, please remember to speak with your child/ren about the change that will occur as it will become darker earlier. As the weather becomes cooler, please remember to bring a warm change of clothes and label everything.

September Recap and October News

September Recap:

September has come and gone, and we are overjoyed with all the new families that have joined us for the new school year. We would like to thank you all for choosing Belltower to care for your children. Back to School Night was a huge success! Our teachers did an amazing job introducing their goals and expectations for the year. There was great dialogue between parents and teachers. It was wonderful to see so many parents attend for the evening. If you have any questions regarding curriculum, please feel free to contact us at your convenience.

The children enjoyed their first month back to school which consisted of classroom rules, guidelines, and expectations along with Montessori lessons. The children practiced lessons each day to help establish a solid classroom routine. The children have enjoyed getting to know one another in each room by creating, “All about Me” booklets, paintings, and other activities. They shared family photos and hung them in their classrooms which tied in perfectly to our literature book of the month The Kissing Hand . Our enrichment program has continued in each classroom where the children study Art, Music, Cooking, Spanish and Computers for all of our extended day families.

October News:

October is going to be a Spooktacular month filled with Halloween and Fall inspired activities! Our Scholastic Book fair will be held Oct. 3 ^rd – 7 ^th . Our fall pictures will be held Oct. 4 ^th -Oct. 6 ^th . The second week of October is our annual fire safety week where we will discuss fires, drills, safety, and firefighters. The children are beyond excited for our Costume Parade and celebration which will be held on October 31 ^st from 9:30 to 10:30am. This will be a child only event. Please refer to our Newsletter for important dates and reminders.

Our focus in October is the Solar System and Space and North America. Our Book of the month is Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger. The children will be going on nature walks and exploring the new botany that the changing season brings. As we come into Fall, please be mindful of the weather and please bring appropriate clothing for the changing weather. Thank you for always contributing to our school and giving us such positive feedback! Summer Recap and September 2022 News

Summer Recap:

Summer came and went in the blink of an eye! We had a fantastic time with all our in-house activities!! We started the summer with a Party in The USA. We celebrated the 4th of July by learning about the meaning of Independence Day, making firework art, and watching videos about fireworks. Our Outer Space week was filled with Stars, planets, and constellations. We named the planets and learned how they go around the sun. We had Tide pools where the children could touch and feel underwater sea creatures for our Underwater Adventure. They were able to hold them and see how they felt. The children learned about the materials needed to go Camping. We made smores and did some bird watching with binoculars. Our reptile friends came to visit us as well. Some children petted a python and looked closely at turtles and giant lizards. We studied Farms and the animals that live on farms. We used 3-part cards to connect the bodies of the animals and created several pieces of farm animal art using paper plates and popsicle sticks. Volcano week was a blast. The children worked together in the classrooms to create volcanos and erupted them at the end of the week. The water slide was a fantastic addition to our summer fun. The child had so much fun slipping and sliding. The highlight of the summer was our carnival which included a petting zoo, face painting, games, and wonderful family time! Thank you so much for being a part of our program.

September News:

School is back in session, and we are excited to see many new and returning faces. September is filled with “All About Me” activities as the theme for the month. The children will be learning and sharing what makes them special and unique. We will create posters and family trees for a big month project. We will learn about the 7 continents and begin understanding the globe. Normalizing the classroom by using our manners and learning our classroom rules and routines will also be a big part of learning in September.

June Recap and Summer News

June Recap:

June came and went in a blink of an eye. First and foremost, we would like to thank our families for an excellent academic year! It has been an honor having your children be a part of our Belltower family. Our graduation ceremonies were a time to remember. The children were beyond excited, and we could not be prouder of their academic achievements. The children performed well and blew our expectations out of the water. We would also like to thank our staff for all the hard work, dedication, and love they give the children all year.

Our celebration for Father’s Day, was so heartwarming. We were so happy to see so many of the children’s father’s come to celebrate with their children. The children were so filled with love and could not wait to share their gifts with dad.

We celebrated the end of our school year with popsicles and lots of bubbles. We played ball games and hula hooped as well. Thank you again for being a part of our school family.

Summer News:

We will be bringing out the fun this summer during our Summer Camp! Some of our favorite summer activities are bubble days, waterslide days, and much more will be returning! We want to remind parents to bring sunscreen, bathing suits, water shoes, towels, and an extra pair of clothes for our water/waterslide days. Please see our Summer Flyer for important dates, times, themes, and showtime information. We want to wish you a safe and fun Summer and look forward to the start of our next academic school year in September!

April Recap and May News

April Recap

In April, the children concentrated on Australia and Planet Earth. The children worked in the garden and discussed caring for the planet to help celebrate Earth day. April included an annual celebration called the "Week of the Young Child." The children were excited about the different themes during the week. The children enjoyed making instruments, making snacks, building, and creating art. One of their favorite activities was building boxes on the playground. They also loved the "dirt in a cup" inspired by our silkworms. The children were fascinated by the growth of the silkworms, the cocoons, and eventually the moths. We were able to store eggs for next year!

March Recap and April News

March Recap

In March, we studied The Rainforest and South America, Dr. Seuss, St. Patrick's Day, and rainbows! We enjoyed all the books the children brought in for the teachers to read. During enrichments in March, we read several books in Spanish, made "green eggs and ham," and enjoyed creating moves to South American music and making rainbows with a pot o' gold. Picture day was a success and brought the realization that we have several students graduating this year! Our garden was also revamped with all our classrooms putting in the hard work and love to make it flourish! Thank you to the parents who brought items for our March festivities.

We are looking forward to an EXPLOSIVE month full of knowledge and adventure. Our focus in April is the Planet Earth, Australia, New Zealand, The Pacific Island and Volcanos. There will be several discussions and projects about volcanos.

April News

Our school is very excited to study, discuss and read about nature and the importance of taking care of planet earth. Earth Day is Friday, April 22 ^nd, and we would like to help create awareness of the environment and how we treat nature. Each classroom will make something out of recycled materials, so please let your child's teacher know if you would like to bring something in from home. Our annual egg hunt and spring party will be held on Friday, April 15 ^th . We ask all parents to bring in 12 prefilled eggs to assist with the search. Each classroom will have a sign-up posted on its door for the spring party. We will also celebrate the Week of the Young Child and hold our annual spring book fair the week of April 11 ^th – 15 ^th . January Recap and February News:

January Recap:

January was filled with discussions about snow, winter weather, animals, and hibernation. The children were excited to study polar bears, penguins, and other hibernating animals. They were especially interested in animals that hibernate in caves! Our book of the month, The Mitten , was a huge success. We also studied Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. In which we discussed freedom and cultural differences. After returning from break, the children took time to readjust, and we were happy to have everyone back in school mode.

The children had lots of fun in enrichment classes this month. For Music, the children learned about Beethoven and his impact on classical music. In Art class the children studied about Vincent Van Gogh, they even created a Van Gogh-inspired work based on our book of the month. In Cooking, the children made terrific and delicious treats insipired on the witner animals. For Spanish, the children learned new winter words, along with reviewing all the Spanish words they've learned thus far. Lastly, for computers the children continued their self-pace curriculum through ABCMouse.

February News:

In February, we are studying cultural awareness, friendship, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and the Asian continent. The children will discuss family traditions and cultures, what it means to be a good friend, and what George Washington and Abraham Lincoln mean to our country. Due to the rising number of illnesses, we will be canceling our annual open house scheduled for Feb. 2nd. On Feb. 14 ^th, we will celebrate a Valentine’s Day-themed party in each classroom. Your child is welcome to bring in a Valentine for each class member. Sign-ups for the celebration will be posted on your child’s classroom door the week prior.

We are looking forward to the exciting activities February will bring.
