Summer 2020

Summer Recap:

Summer came and went in the blink of an eye! We had an amazing time with all our in-house activities!! We started off the summer with a camping theme. We watched several videos about camping in the mountains and on the beach. We learned about the materials we would need to go camping. We made a smores snack and lots of campfire artwork. We celebrated the 4th of July by learning about the meaning of Independence Day, making firework art and watching video’s about fireworks. Our Outer Space week was filled with Stars, planets, and constellations. We named the planets and watched a video about taking a trip to the moon! One of our favorite activities was the Astronaut helmets we made and got to wear! We studied farms and animals that live on farms. We used 3-part cards to connect the bodies of the animals, we watched a farm video, we made popcorn on the cob and several other farm activities. Our Under the Sea and Volcano weeks were favorites this year. We had a virtual aquarium video tour, we made stained glass aquariums, jelly fish and more! Our most creative activity was the volcano each class created. We made them out of paper Mache and then let them dry. We painted them and then added vinegar and baking soda with food coloring and watched them "erupt"!  Ms. Andrea’s Tarantula came to visit us! Her name is Rosemary. We liked her so much we asked about her every day after she took her home.

We have implemented new procedures for the summer and will continue into the new school year. All children will be dropped off and picked up at the front door where their temperatures will be taken by a staff member. Children will also need two pairs of shoes, one inside and one outside. We are doing our best to ensure the health and safety of all families so please remember to keep your child home if they are sick.
